Based on the direct-to-video release of
Batman of the Future: Return of the Joker, this eponymous title is quite simply one of the worst superhero videogames ever made. (Which, considering how awful entries in this genre tend to be, means that it's pretty darn bad.)
Contrary to the futuristic theme of the Batman of the Future cartoon series, this pathetic effort is hopelessly dated in terms of gameplay--which is of the side-scrolling brawler variety--as well as graphics and sound, both of which would have been barely passable on the last generation of videogame systems. And given this relic's clumsy, unintuitive controls, even retro-videogame fans will have a hard time stomaching this one. --Joe Hon
