Product Description
God of War III is a single player action game, exclusive to the PlayStation 3, and the final installment of the God of War trilogy. Containing signature and addictive God of War gameplay a combination of over-the-top action combat, exploration and puzzle-solving along with an engrossing mythologically inspired storyline and a selection of new weapons and a new weapons system, it is a fitting conclusion to the much praised God of War franchise. - True to the series roots, the four pillars of game play - brutal combat, intricate puzzles, exploration of awe-inspiring worlds, and a compelling story - all return.
- God of War III is the epic conclusion to the Greek mythological trilogy, which will complete Kratos' story that began in the original title for the PlayStation 2.
- New deadly weapons like the Cestus, powerful metal gauntlets with devastating strength, and other brutal instruments of war that open up ruthless new techniques.
- The menacing creatures of Greek mythology can now be manipulated against their will, to cross chasms, inflict blind rage against enemies, reveal puzzles and secrets, and as tools of complete annihilation.
- God of War III picks up exactly where God of War II left off Kratos must take his quest for vengeance to the very stronghold of the Zeus.

Yeah, its pretty epic March 19, 2010 A. GILL 52 out of 59 found this review helpful
Im going to keep this review short. Why? Because anyone who is planning on buying
this game will not care what anyone else thinks. You've seen the trailers, played
the demos and now its time to see yourself if it has lived up to everything.
GRAPHICS
This is on par with Uncharted 2, if not better in several places. Hands down
they are 2 of the best looking console games so far. Each has their own strengths,
GOW3 has amazing greek landscapes, temples, ruins, caves and the whole ancient look
going for it which really makes it look special. And the gore is on a new level.
GAMEPLAY
The tried and tested stuff here, if it aint broke dont fix it. More enemies, more
boss battles, more puzzles, a few new types of gameplay which i wont spoil but its
classic God Of War which all fans should be very familar with. There are a few new
weapons for Kratos to use but other than that its all back.
STORY
You continue where you left off. Most of the story is focused on your revenge, everything
you do is somehow contributing to your revenge against Zeus and the Gods. It ends in style,
it didnt feel like they patched it together like a lot of places have been saying.
DISLIKES
Not much to dislike here at all. Only on your second play through might you get a tad annoyed
as the cut scenes are not skippable, and the button pressing events do get tedious after you
have to watch the same type of enemy dying for another time. But that is it to be honest.
OVERALL
As a fan i couldn't ask for much more. Everything in this instalment has improved upon the
previous two in my opinion. This is a great trilogy and it ended with a bang, i feel satisfied
with the end result and im sure most people will do to. For me, this game is worthy of a 5/5.
Just as good as you expect July 27, 2010 Ms. Jade M. Hodson (england) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
this is really great...i mean REALLY great!!! i was hooked as soon as i started it and did not move for about 7 hours. The game brings the legendary creatures to the HD screen. All the way through it is clear that this is a epic game and a even better story...... i was happy to later find out that the story is based upon true events also, which just intensified the game even more for me!!!!!
Just another voice in the crowd.... March 23, 2010 Mr. Robert Duffy (Portsmouth, Hampshire, UK) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
There's not a great amount I can say to add to the other the reviews here, most of which go into much further detail than I am willing, able or capable to do!
However, speaking as somebody who does not play a lot of games, and isn't glued to the PS3 all day long I would suggest this will keep you more than happy for a long time to come.
The graphics are nothing short of stunning, and I have to pinch myself that I'm the same person that used to huddle around a 14-inch portable TV and 48K ZX Spectrum back in the 80s. If only we could know back then just how far home-gaming would have come in 25-years.
Anyway, I digress... this is a showcase of programming.... and just proves that its only our own imaginations that limits what can now be produced...
If you buy one game this year... this would be a fine choice! I'm not saying its the best game ever - as I don't own every single game out there... but if its not I'd be surprised...
Go buy it... play it... and enjoy it...
PLAIN AND SIMPLY UNBELIEVABLE March 19, 2010 P. Warrington (Liverpool. England) 10 out of 13 found this review helpful
I bought this game on release day and since putting the disc in i havent been able to turn it off .. i have played about four hours through the story and everything about it is absolutely amazing ..
The graphics are some of the best graphics i have ever seen and considering it is such a fast paced game with huge battles its just more astounding.
I have never played any of the other GOW games but you dont need to, This game is as good as Uncharted 2 and even as much fun to play as MW2.
Its quite simple BUY this game and you will not be dissapointed!!!!!!!!
Epic Isnt A Strong Enough Word March 21, 2010 Samuel Morgan (Wales, UK) 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
The God of War series for the Playstation 2 revived a dying console. It took PS2 owners to levels of entertainment that were out of reach for the system, by showing us breathtaking vistas, hitting us with revolutionary gameplay and epic storylines.
God of War 3 takes the power of the PS3 and gives us a game that is peerless in the video game industry. The gameplay has been sharpened and improved, the in game graphics equal the HD cutscenes of the previous titles, and the storyline hits you with more household myths, heroes and creatures.
To address criticism that this title has recieved, in that it hasnt changed much since the last instalment.. This is nonsense. The game has taken what were already 10/10 games and sharpened and polished them, to give us the ultimate adventure.
Assassins Creed 1 & 2, Uncharted, BioShock, Metal Gear Solid, all of these series are my personal favourites, the games I hold others in contrast to, how I judge them. Each of them have their own little flaws, that dont diminish the experience, but are still there. But they are the mortals, to this God of a game.
Gameplay 10/10 - Not a moment of boredom
Graphics 10/10 - Rival Hollywood blockbusters
Sound 10/10 - Epic score, you could well be in Ancient Greece
Longevity 10/10 - Convinced me to buy God of War Collection and to replay in the unlocked mode, so it increases the longevity of other games as well!
There is nothing to fault, no little flaws to highlight, it even arrived on Supersaver delivery the day before release. The protagonist of this game may well be cursed by the Gods, but this game and its creators have been blessed.God Of War Collection Game PS3
