I have owned this game since late September and I have to say I have played little else.
If you are a serious motorsport fan then I would suggest this is one of your must haves and if you were not whether to get this or Race '07 or '06 then get this as you get the other two included, although if you look at the game quite critically there is not much thats new apart from some updated car rosters, such as new GT race and road cars and also the phenominal 'Extreme' touring cars. Track wise you only really get 1 new track, but wow, what a track, all 15 miles or so of the legendary Nurburgring Nordschleife.
GAMEPLAY - Well its pretty much the same as any of the other excellent simbin titles, the graphics are clean and the game is useable on low end GPU's have used it on a radeon X1660 pro and also an Nvidia 9800 GT and the low end card is fine with settings lowered. The sound is as usual excellent, my particular favourites are the engine notes off the Extreme cars.
The cars are all fully adajustable set up wise and tinkering does make a noticeable difference, but you do need to know what your doing or it will ruin the handling etc.
One of the aspects I realy like is the ability to customise what class of cars is present during a race so you can have the ungodly fast F3000 and Extreme cars racing the slow but good fun minis around any track of your choice.
My negatives of the game are apart from the Nordschleife there really is very little thats new from Race '07 and unless your a motorsport nut like me I think if you own one of the race games its not really worth your while buying this, however in saying that you really would be missing an awesome experience that is trying to maseter the Nord and if you own the logitech G25 then quite simply it becomes one of the best PC driving experiences available.

I have found this excellent racing sim is a great accompaniment to the G25 steering wheel. Not too demanding on modern PCs and a great introduction for me into the world of simulation-style racing. Hopefully future installments will come closer to the quality of the likes of iRacing, only without the monthly subscription fees.

This game has just so much to offer its hard to know where to start.Graphics are great game play is excellent and challenging --To add to this you have the famous 24k Nordschleife.I would have got the game for that alone .The number of races and championships is awesome.This game works perfect with my logitech Momo wheel and gives great driver feedback.You can tweak the car settings too .I would highly recommend this to anyone --especially at the price you can get it for now.

I'm more of a console racer but I fancied both GTR (heard it was good) and Race 07 (touring car fan) for my laptop. So when I found the two bundled together I lapped it up.
The two two games have been blended together with Race 07 incorporated into GTR. There is plenty choice; single races, championships, time trials, practice etc. 19 tracks with 40 variations and loads of cars. There are a number of classes such as Formula BMW, WTCC (07, 06 and extreme models) and umpteen others. You can mix them up.
Graphically, it depends on your spec. On low it is quite decent. Thats what I play on as it starts to get a bit juddery up the visual scale. There is an analyser that can set the optimum settings for your PC. The sound is excellent.
As you'd expect this is simulation based so it is not forgiving but your can change all the settings including the difficulty level.
Overall, this is an excellent racer and would love it on a console. It is very rewarding to play and there is hours of racing in it. I've only installed the offline version which is 4GB. You need to instal the on-line seperately which includes Steam for another 5GB.
My only gripe is controller support. It is limited, focusing more on wheels. You can use the keyboard which is rubbish, or a mouse which is alright. I couldn't get the XBOX 360 controller to work even though there is a profile for it and few pads seem to be supported.
Never the less, if you like racing sims I bet you will like this.
